Arborist Crew Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Arborist Crew Leader to join our team at Lewis Tree Service, Inc. As a key member of our forestry operations, you will be responsible for leading a tight-knit crew and creating a positive team environment.

• Lead a crew of arborists in tree trimming, removal, and spraying operations
• Interpret and execute tree trimming and removal orders from General Foreman or customer representatives
• Plan and layout daily work for the crew, considering time, equipment, and weather conditions
• Perform Pre-Job Hazard Surveys and assign tasks based on crew members' knowledge and skills
• Climb trees and operate aerial lifts for trimming and removals in and above power lines
• Prepare and maintain equipment, including hand tools, chainsaws, and chippers
• Remove limbs and brush, clean up, and dispose of debris
• Mix and apply spray chemicals to preserve desirable vegetation
• Ensure employee and public safety by enforcing on-the-job safety practices

• Two or more years of experience as a Trimmer/Climber, working around utility lines
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and arboriculture techniques
• Experience in tree climbing, knot tying, and PPE
• Understanding of drawings and symbols representing line equipment and voltage
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Capability to operate two-handed equipment and endure extreme climate variances
• Willingness to obtain specialized training and certifications, such as CPR and First Aid
