Estimated Salary: $80-$100 per hour

Job Description

The Medical Assessments Specialist will be responsible for reviewing medical health records through a secure Web Portal and performing a thorough assessment on each Veteran. The Specialist will also complete a Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQ's) through the Web Portal. DBQ's are condition-specific forms created by the VA. Through the DBQ's, the Specialist will document exam findings needed by the VA. This is not a treating role; the Specialist will only provide assessments.

This position will involve reviewing and assessing 4 Veterans per day on average. Telehealth options are available to increase up to full-time if desired. The Specialist will spend at least 50% of their time reviewing medical records and electronically documenting exam findings.

The ideal candidate will have excellent typing skills, be proficient in finding key data points within large electronic medical records, and be able to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete DBQ's and form medical opinions. Additionally, the Specialist should be skilled at time management, able to stay on task, and meet requirements. Completed DBQ's must be submitted within 24 hours after an exam.

Requirements

To be eligible for this position, candidates must:

  • Hold a current license as a Physiatrist.
  • Be Board Certified in either Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology.
