Job Description

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Modeling and Simulation team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing software solutions for our Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) program.

The selected candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with experience in developing and integrating complex software systems. You will work closely with our team to ensure that our software solutions meet the needs of our customers and are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software solutions for the JSE program
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software solutions meet customer needs
  • Develop and maintain software documentation
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality software development

Requirements:

  • 12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in software engineering or related field
  • 10 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in software engineering or related field
  • 2 years of relevant experience with a PhD in software engineering or related field
  • Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) experience
  • Presentation/briefing experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with scripting, databases, and high-level programming languages such as C++
  • Proven ability to work both in a team and individually
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD TS/SCI and relevant SAP/SAR Clearance

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with USAF and/or Joint 5th Gen fighter operations
  • Technical experience working with DoD full mission flight simulators and synthetic environments
  • Working knowledge of F-35 and F-22 systems software
  • Experience with developing sub-system and system level models (air vehicles, ground vehicles, ground-based sensors, and other types of complex systems)
  • Experience working with/developing multi-system mission level simulations (air space simulation, swarm simulations, etc.)
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to execute agile/dynamic processes
  • Active or current DoD TS/SCI Clearance
