F-35 Air Vehicle Field Support Engineer Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled F-35 Air Vehicle Field Support Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our F-35 Sustainment Operating Unit, you will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to our customers in resolving issues related to the F-35 aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Northrop Grumman technical interface and on-site company representative to the customer in resolving issues arising from operations, maintenance, modifications, and other logistics and engineering support activities involving the F-35 aircraft.
  • Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determine technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommend actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution.
  • Assess product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Conduct technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors, and company representatives.

Requirements:

  • Must have a HS diploma or a GED and 9 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Will consider a bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years related military aircraft maintenance; A master's degree with 3 years of related military aircraft maintenance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have and be able to maintain a DOD Secret security clearance.
  • Must have or be able to obtain Special Access Program clearance.
  • F-35 or F-22 aircraft experience including cockpit operations.
  • Fighter aircraft troubleshooting, maintenance, and operations experience.
  • Demonstrated, intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of F-35 aircraft experience.
  • Prior Field Support or military experience.
  • Experience with operation and troubleshooting of fifth generation aircraft avionics (DAS, EW, GPS, INS, and CNI).
  • Experience with operation and troubleshooting of fifth generation aircraft Vehicle Systems (FCS, PTMS, EPS, and Utilities and Subsystems).
  • Working knowledge of engineering tools such as CATIA, VAS, VA, PDM, and JEDI.

Salary Range: $76,600 - $115,000
