Experienced Nurse Practitioner Opportunity

Penn Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join their Hematology/Oncology department at Pennsylvania Hospital. As a key member of the team, you will provide direct clinical care to patients, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the excellence in education, leadership, and professional contribution.
Responsibilities- Provide direct clinical care to patients, utilizing evidence-based practice standards and established protocols.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, documenting all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Identify yourself properly to patients and families, clarifying your role as a Nurse Practitioner if necessary.
- Function within your scope and refer to collaborating physicians when outside of scope or directed by them.
- Perform interventions specific to assigned patient populations and collaborative agreements.
- Participate in performance improvement processes to meet quality of care and service standards.
- Demonstrate awareness of professional responsibility as a role model to peers and members of the healthcare team.
- Perform approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on patient clinical status.
- Address patient and family concerns, creating a therapeutic relationship to provide support.
- Provide patient education, counseling, and instruction regarding patient diagnosis, medical treatments, medications, and preventative care.
- Participate in and support accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization.
- Precept NP students and other healthcare learners.
- Identify patient/family needs for community resources and refer appropriately.
- ACLS (for providers in the acute care setting) required.
- BLS/CPR, as a healthcare provider as per the American Heart Association (for providers in the ambulatory setting) required.
- Certified Nurse Practitioner-PA (Required).
- PA and/or NJ CRNP licensure (CRNP) required.
- Prescriptive Authority (Required).
- PA and/or NJ Prescriptive Authority required.
- Registered Nurse-PA (Required).
- PA and/or NJ RN licensure (RN) required.
- Master of Arts or Science (Required).
- And 2+ years of experience, the CRNP must be reviewed by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Medical Board.
- Master's Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Nursing.
