Job Overview

Pratt Industries is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting the Controller and overseeing various financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Operations Management: Directly responsible for ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accounts receivable and payable processes.
  • Financial Reporting: Timely and accurate completion of month-end journal entries, balance sheet, and income statement preparation.
  • Closing Process: Effective management of the month-end financial close process to ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Operational Analysis: Perform operational analysis as requested and assign special projects to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Policy Adherence: Responsible for knowing and following company policies and procedures, sharing information that benefits the team, and finding ways to improve productivity and profitability.
  • Payroll and HR: Under the direction of the Regional HR Director, ensure adherence to payroll and Human Resources policies and functions related to hourly and salaried personnel.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (Required).
  • Experience: 2+ years in an accounting or finance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Public accounting experience also considered.
  • Skills: Strong Excel spreadsheet working knowledge and SAP proficiency preferred.
  • General Skills: Very high attention to detail, good organizational skills, effective communication skills, ability to react well under time pressure, comfortable working in a plant environment, and motivated to learn all aspects of the manufacturing operation.
Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, volume, and net present value.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Technical Skills:

Computer literate (MS Office including Word and Excel as well as accounting software) and proficient knowledge and application of accounting principles, quality standards (both ISO and QS), and work environment characteristics.
