About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Python, AWS, and CI/CD practices to join our team at Veracyte.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, cloud computing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment methodologies.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions that power our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions using Python.
  • Architect and lead the implementation of cloud-based applications and services on AWS.
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless integration and deployment of code.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and bugs.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and code reviews.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain current and competitive.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development.
  • Proven experience delivering solutions making use of AWS.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
  • Proficiency in building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of software development best practices, including design patterns, coding standards, and code reviews.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with web development technologies such as React, Angular, or similar.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of database systems, both SQL and NoSQL.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or similar.
  • Prior experience in a senior or lead engineering role.
