About the Role

The Operations Director - Food Production is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of food production and packaging operations at Wellness Pet Company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage personnel in data entry, planning, and production areas to ensure seamless operation of the plant.
  • Develop and implement operational plans to improve production metrics, employee health and safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives and align activities with corporate demand plans.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among teams to achieve timely delivery of customer orders.
  • Monitor and control manufacturing costs while ensuring efficient generation of production schedules.
  • Oversee data entry functions to ensure accurate and timely reporting of shop orders.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive work culture by providing coaching and development opportunities to employees.
  • Promote a change-oriented mindset and encourage employee feedback and suggestions for process improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field (e.g., manufacturing, operations management).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in plant management, preferably in a food or beverage manufacturing facility.
  • Proven track record of managing large production teams and driving results-oriented improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to lift up to 65 pounds and work in various environments, including hot and cold temperatures.
