Diagnostic Imaging Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at DispatchHealth Management.

About the Role:

  • You will be responsible for performing mobile diagnostic imaging procedures in various settings to assist in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries.
  • Your day-to-day experience will include traveling by automobile to perform portable x-rays and EKG exams, collecting and verifying required order documentation and patient information, preparing and positioning patients for diagnostic imaging exams, and operating portable radiologic equipment.
  • You will also determine exposure factors based on height, weight, body part, and degree of penetration required, and demonstrate safe work practices including radiation safety and ALARA principles.
  • In addition, you will prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians, process images and review them for diagnostic quality prior to transmission, transmit images and associated documentation in a timely manner, and complete all forms and maintain records according to standard protocols.
  • You will also perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving of equipment and systems, take good care of company vehicles, and operate and behave in full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations related to portable imaging procedures and standards.
  • Furthermore, you will perform training and orientation of other employees upon request by management, assist with order taking, validation of studies, communication with reading radiologists, customer call-backs, and other administrative and customer support functions as directed.

Requirements:

  • You must meet all state-specific and federal requirements to perform portable x-rays, including being registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiologic Technologist RT (R), holding a state x-ray license if applicable, having a valid state-issued driver's license, and maintaining a good driving record.
  • You must also have the ability to move or lift equipment up to 50 pounds, walk up and down stairs easily while carrying equipment, and work a varied schedule that may require evenings, holidays, and weekends.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
