Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing quality patient care and making judgment decisions regarding respiratory care modalities. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of all respiratory care modalities and be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quality patient care, including thorough documentation and patient education.
  • Initiate and manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation, including troubleshooting and discontinuation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to educate them on respiratory care procedures.
  • Be a good steward of hospital equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

  • Current license by State of Florida, Department of Health, as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within 90 days of start date and maintained.
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have good organizational and prioritizing skills.
