Job Title: Child Abuse Pediatrician

Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Abuse Pediatrician to join our team.

About the Position

This is a full-time, open-rank position in the Department of Pediatrics at Virginia Commonwealth University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent evaluation of patients and families who are experiencing abuse and neglect, outstanding education to learners at all levels, and strategically enhancing our research and application of quality and safety in pediatric care.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching: Faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in the subspecialty area of child abuse under the division of General Pediatrics.
  • Research: Faculty member will be able to secure revenue through grants and contracts in the field of quality and safety in provision of care.
  • Service: Faculty member will serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees especially as these relate to quality and safety.
  • Clinical: Faculty member will serve as a Child Abuse Pediatrician for the Department of Pediatrics.
Requirements
  • Board certified or board eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics.
  • Experience with clinical care of patients ages birth to 21.
  • Experience with education of house-staff, medical students, and others.
  • Experience with research.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced training in clinical research and/or epidemiology.
  • Success in securing research grants and contracts.
