Groundperson with CDL

The groundperson is responsible for operating a woodchipper, ensuring the safety of other workers, and maintaining equipment and materials.

Nelson Tree Service provides line clearance services to utility companies, upholding a commitment to performance and professionalism.

This position requires a valid commercial Driver license (CDL) and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate chainsaw to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees.
• Drag, gather, and feed brush into wood chipper.
• Services vehicles and equipment, maintaining them in neat, clean, and specified mechanical order.

Working Conditions:

• Works around hazardous equipment.
• Works around excessive noise from machines, chain saws, and wood chippers, with hearing protection.

• Must be 18 years-of-age or older.
• Must be willing to join local union and pay union dues.
• Entry-level position, no experience required.

Physical Demands:

• OCCASSIONAL (up to 33%): stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, sense of touch, climbing on/off truck, gripping, lifting over 10 lbs.
