Job Description

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect to join our team. As a Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for the creation, maintenance, and management of IT architecture models. You will interpret, use, and apply information contained within the IT architecture to inform business improvement activities, particularly those involved in designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining IT support systems.

The ideal candidate will ensure that the overall IT architecture is developed and maintained in a coherent manner and make appropriate considerations for its security and quality. Your primary role will be to ensure that the respective business, application, data, and technology perspectives are aligned with the company's technology and governance strategies, policies, and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will define principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.
  • You will design, develop, and lead the implementation of solutions architecture across specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities, and business requirements.
  • You will document all solution architecture design and analysis work.
  • You will lead code reviews and provide consulting support to developers to ensure projects are aligned with the overall enterprise architecture.
  • You will perform project planning, system analysis, software design, coding, testing, documentation, implementation, and research activities as necessary for software engineering projects.
  • You will facilitate the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations.
  • You will design and direct governance activities associated with ensuring solutions architecture assurance and compliance.
  • You will monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of technologies used by applications or misalignment with business requirements.
  • You will understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
  • You will conduct and/or participate in meetings related to priority IT projects.
Requirements
  • You must have a Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a related technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • You must have at least six years of experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management, or operations.
  • You must have understanding of agile methods and processes as well as the capability to support agile project teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks while taking account of technical and architectural debt.
  • You must have advanced knowledge of programming, integration, and application security models as well as proficiency with various software development tools.
  • You must have expert knowledge of object design methodologies, architecture methodologies, security practices, and integration techniques.
  • You must have advanced knowledge of relational database technology, structured analysis concepts, and software design patterns.
  • You must have effective project management skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • You must have knowledge of information technology terms, equipment, systems, functions, and major vendors.
  • You must have effective oral and written communication skills.
  • You must have effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • You must have effective interpersonal skills and customer relationship skills.
  • You must have a general understanding of IT operating and capital investment budgets.
  • You must have an understanding of the company's existing IT environment and applicable company policies, practices, and procedures.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $133,000 and $156,500 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 20.00% of salary.
