Job Summary

The Anne Carlsen Center is seeking a skilled Support Specialist to join our team. As a Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting clients with their daily lives, including health and personal care, therapeutic, educational, and recreational activities. You will work closely with Program Coordinators to implement PCSP/IFSP, Behavior Plans, and healthcare protocols for our clients. This is a part-time position, requiring 10-20 hours of work per week, with varying shifts including Monday to Friday, 3pm-10pm, and weekends, 8am-10pm.

Responsibilities

This role assumes the authority, responsibility, and accountability for working with Program Coordinators to implement PCSP/IFSP, Behavior Plans, and healthcare protocols for all clients served by AC. You will support the development and connections needed to be a participant in community life, working within the guidelines of Anne Carlsen policies/procedures, State and Federal Laws, Rules, and Regulations. You will also provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to Direct Service Professional staff on their assigned shift, solving issues and needs of both the clientele and staff.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and demonstrate effective skills in organization, leadership, and communication. You must be able to adapt to rapid change, and intervene promptly in crisis/emergency situations. You will also need to complete AC's training program according to the Center's policies and procedures, and have the ability to learn and perform personal cares, education, and therapeutic programs, and have the ability to learn and comprehend medical terminology. You must also have the ability to communicate and follow all verbal and written instructions, and problem solve effectively with clients, staff, family members, and community businesses. You will also need to understand and have a working knowledge of Windows, Intranet, and Internet technology, and be able to access, manipulate, organize, and relay information in meaningful ways using email, etc.
