Deaf and Hearing Community Interpreter Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Deaf and hearing community interpreter to provide high-quality interpretation services in multiple locations across our company.
As a part-time interpreter, you will have the flexibility to choose which work assignments you want to accept, and we offer competitive pay for both cancelled and replacement assignments. Additionally, you will be reimbursed for parking, tolls, and mileage for all assignments, and can earn extra income for travel time between other Sorenson community assignments.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English, or between ASL, Tactile American Sign Language, and written English as needed
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a respectful and professional attitude with customers and colleagues
- Work effectively in a team environment and receive support from colleagues as needed
- Meet performance and customer service expectations with minimal supervision
- Enhance interpreting skills through continuing education and training
- Able to pass our required skills assessment
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred but not required
- Interpreter certification is essential
- At least 3 years' experience working as an interpreter is preferred
- Ability to travel independently in the metropolitan area and possess a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance
- Competitive hourly rate: $25-$60 per hour, depending on location, education, and certifications
- Flexible scheduling with the ability to choose which assignments you want to accept

- Differentials for Night, Graveyard, Weekend, and Legal assignments
