Job Description:

As a Behavioral Intervention Specialist at the Public School of North Carolina, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with challenging behaviors. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with behavioral specialists, school counselors, social workers, and teachers to ensure behavior interventions are implemented with fidelity.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Teaching, or a related field, as well as experience working with children with behavioral problems. Key responsibilities include providing in-the-moment coaching in the classroom, observing students, collecting and graphing behavior data, and establishing rapport with staff, students, and parents.

A key aspect of this role is communicating effectively with colleagues to ensure that behavior strategies and interventions are being implemented consistently across settings. Additionally, the Behavioral Intervention Specialist will be responsible for modeling behavior strategies, creating visual tools and reinforcement materials, and completing forced-choice surveys to identify motivating incentives for students.
