About the Role

Melrose/Wakefield Hospital, part of the Tufts Medicine system, is seeking a highly skilled Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission of delivering high-quality, accessible healthcare to the local community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement specific treatment programs for individual patients with pelvic floor disorders, utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques.
  • Assess and re-assess patient pain, developing appropriate treatment plans to assist patients in achieving maximum functional outcomes.
  • Interact professionally with patients and families, involving them in the formation of treatment plans and educating them on self-care and management strategies.
  • Supervise and educate students, evaluating their performance and providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintain and complete accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records, ensuring effective communication with physicians and proper reimbursement.
  • Participate in departmental rounds, team meetings, and case conferences, staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in pelvic floor physical therapy.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote patient safety and independence in discharge planning.
  • Act as a clinical and non-clinical resource, particularly in areas of subspecialty expertise, and contribute to practice improvement through the establishment and revision of procedures, policies, and research activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
  • Graduation from an approved school of Physical Therapy.
  • Physical Therapy (PT) License, with licensure in NH may be required depending on assigned territory and operational need.
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience, with one year in an acute care setting.
  • American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Membership or specialty equivalent.
