Job Summary

At CommonSpirit Health, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Chaplain to join our Spiritual Care Resources Team. As a Chaplain, you will provide emotional and spiritual support to patients, their families, and hospital staff, utilizing appropriate pastoral ministry approaches to promote healing and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director in providing emotional and spiritual support to patients, families, and hospital staff.
  • Utilize pastoral ministry approaches to support patients, residents, and family members during periods of illness, injury, or grief.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to CommonSpirit Health's Mission, Philosophy, and Values.
  • Promote positive customer relations with internal and external customers.
  • Exhibit respect and sensitivity to cultural and social differences in interactions with others.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as needed with little or no direction.
Qualifications
  • Completion of or working towards Clinical Pastoral Education preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Theology, Behavioral Science, Ministry, or a related field desired.
  • Masters Degree preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience as a Healthcare Chaplain in a hospital and/or long-term care facility preferred.
Required Licensure and Certifications
  • Ordained Christian Ministers preferred.
  • Certification in NACC (National Associate of Catholic Chaplains) or ACPE (Association for Clinical Pastoral Education preferred.
  • Evidence of ongoing education following graduation preferred.
