Job SummaryAt CommonSpirit Health, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Chaplain to join our Spiritual Care Resources Team. As a Chaplain, you will provide emotional and spiritual support to patients, their families, and hospital staff, utilizing appropriate pastoral ministry approaches to promote healing and well-being.
Responsibilities- Assist the Director in providing emotional and spiritual support to patients, families, and hospital staff.
- Utilize pastoral ministry approaches to support patients, residents, and family members during periods of illness, injury, or grief.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to CommonSpirit Health's Mission, Philosophy, and Values.
- Promote positive customer relations with internal and external customers.
- Exhibit respect and sensitivity to cultural and social differences in interactions with others.
- Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Assume additional responsibilities as needed with little or no direction.
- Completion of or working towards Clinical Pastoral Education preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Theology, Behavioral Science, Ministry, or a related field desired.
- Masters Degree preferred.
- One (1) year of experience as a Healthcare Chaplain in a hospital and/or long-term care facility preferred.
- Ordained Christian Ministers preferred.
- Certification in NACC (National Associate of Catholic Chaplains) or ACPE (Association for Clinical Pastoral Education preferred.
- Evidence of ongoing education following graduation preferred.
