Baker Roofing Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Roofing Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our roofing crew, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and oversee the installation of roofing systems, including designating material staging areas and supervising crew personnel.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with safety procedures and protocols, and that all necessary safety equipment is used.
- Monitor and control labor projections, material storage, and material needs to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Train and supervise crew members and subcontractors as needed to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as sales and estimating, to ensure that projects are properly planned and executed.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and provide guidance and support to crew members.
- Prepare and submit daily job reports and time sheets, as directed by Department Head.
- Ensure that all work is completed to the highest quality standards, and that all necessary documentation is completed and submitted.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; degree in construction management or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial roofing, with a focus on supervisory or management roles.
- Proven track record of success in leading teams and achieving project goals.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and protocols, and ability to enforce them.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with crew members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple projects and deadlines.
This position requires frequent travel to job sites, and may involve working in extreme weather conditions. The successful candidate must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials and equipment, and must be able to work at heights.
