Substitute Nurse Position in Anchorage

Are you looking for a rewarding career as a substitute nurse in the educational sector? The Anchorage School District is seeking qualified individuals to fill various nursing positions throughout the district.
We offer a competitive salary of $250 per full day, with opportunities to work flexible hours and make a positive impact on students' lives. As a substitute nurse, you will be responsible for providing nursing services, including immunization status review, screenings, treatments, medications, diabetes, and seizure management.
To be eligible for this position, you must possess an associate's degree from an accredited college or university and a valid Alaska Registered Nurse license. For long-term assignments (lasting longer than 19 consecutive days), a valid Alaska type C certificate with an endorsement in nursing is also required.
We prefer candidates with experience working with children, as well as those who have worked as nurses in public education systems. Our ideal candidate should demonstrate flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage stress in a dynamic environment.
The physical demands of this job include frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking, and hearing. You must also be able to understand vague and implicit instructions, recall facts and details, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.
