The Opportunity

As a Healthcare Specialist - Lab Services, you'll provide an exceptional experience for our patients and help them accomplish their care journey by providing venipuncture and other clinical support services.

You'll report to the Office Manager and collaborate closely with our diverse team of providers and administrative assistants, working as part of the patient's primary care team both locally and within your district.

  • You will perform specimen collections and processing using the highest quality standards.
  • You will provide a personalized and calming experience for our patients.

You'll utilize technology and workflows to navigate change and provide best-in-class, human-centered care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide top-notch venipuncture services across a population range from pediatrics to geriatrics.
  • Perform and assist with extended scope duties such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs.
  • Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper labeling, handling, and processing of specimens, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization.
  • Continue caring for members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers and virtual medical teams with clerical tasks.

This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in computer technology, experience working collaboratively, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.

To be successful, you'll need:

  • An active phlebotomy certification to practice in CA and at least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of training/externship environments.
  • A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, customer-focused care.
  • A growth mindset to navigate technology and workflows effectively.
