**Teaching Opportunity at St. Clair County Community College**

We are seeking part-time instructors to teach undergraduate courses within the Theatre Arts program at St. Clair County Community College.

Job Summary: The ideal candidate will design and deliver instruction to students, preparing and delivering academic instruction, maintaining and submitting necessary class records, participating in student grade appeal procedures, observing college calendar, posting and maintaining conference hours, and participating in assessment of student learning and assessment reporting according to assessment plan.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teaching: Prepare and deliver academic instruction, including developing syllabi, developing content, and administering assessments.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain and submit necessary class records, including early alert and final grade reports and attendance verification for financial aid compliance.
  • Student Support: Participate in student grade appeal procedures and observe college calendar.
  • Office Hours: Post and maintain conference hours.
  • Assessment: Participate in assessment of student learning and assessment reporting according to assessment plan.

Requirements:

  • Education: MFA or MA Degree in Theatre, Drama, or Speech/Oral Communication, or Master's Degree with 18 graduate hours in Theatre, Drama, or Speech/Oral Communication.
  • Experience: Teaching experience at the higher education level preferred.
  • Academic Degrees: All academic degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to maintain good relationships with students, staff, and community members.

Compensation and Benefits: The estimated salary for this position is $631 per contact hour, with contact hours varying depending on course offerings. Benefits may include participation in developing and improving academic courses, teaching a full range of undergraduate courses, and advising students.
