Job Overview

This position oversees, directs and manages various aspects of entertainment and special events for Knott's Berry Farm. The individual in this role will collaborate with corporate leadership to recommend talent selection and performance standards.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Entertainment Director to lead senior entertainment management teams, ensuring high standards of show quality through coaching and supervision. This involves setting goals, promoting professionalism and showmanship, and adhering to safety policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading senior entertainment management to ensure high standards of show quality through coaching and quality supervision.
  • Developing teams by setting goals and accountabilities, and promoting professionalism and showmanship through company core values.
  • Adhering to and enforcing all park policies, including safety and EEO policies.
  • Developing entertainment product scope and financial needs, guiding labor and expenses spending, and participating in capital project planning.
  • Communicating with team members, Corporate and Park leadership, and collaborating on show product and events.
  • Guiding the development of new show and special event product, including writing, casting, direction, choreography, music development, design, technical direction & rights negotiations.
  • Collaborating with GM, XDS, Marketing/Brand and other park departments to create new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Theatre Management, Themed Entertainment Management, Technical Production, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience, with 5 years of leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of theatre, production skills, and people skills, with ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods, and pass a mandatory drug test and background check.

Estimated Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package, which includes health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
