Job Title: Export Control Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled Export Control Attorney to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As an Export Control Attorney, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.

Job Summary:

The Export Control Attorney will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on export control regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). You will work closely with our team to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and will be responsible for conducting investigations and internal audits as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on export control regulations
  • Conduct investigations and internal audits as necessary
  • Coordinate exports and imports
  • Perform Restricted Party Screens
  • Maintain export-related record-keeping functions
  • Travel as needed
  • Conduct export training to new and current employees
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and maintain an active license to practice law in at least one state of operation (NY, PA, or ID)
  • Active membership in good standing of the bar in at least one state of operation
  • 3 years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills:

We are looking for candidates with experience in:

  • Department of Energy and Nuclear Regulatory Commission export regulations
  • DOE M&O experience
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret, understand and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on complex regulatory documents and applicable laws and regulations
