Pistachio Production Supervisor Leadership Role

Job OverviewThe Production Supervisor is a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing and supporting Shift Team Members. This role effectively communicates pertinent information to team members, supervisors, and managers. Recommendations will be provided to continuously improve processes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a safe work environment by supporting operations and organizational safety initiatives.
- Maintain adherence to Food Safety Systems in all processes.
- Support Operations Team in staffing, meeting production goals, and maintaining strong employee relations.
- Investigate and document near misses and injuries, providing documentation to the Safety Manager, Manager, and Supervisors.
- Develop and coach team members through business, leadership, and technical training.
- Oversee technical training for team members to ensure certifications and qualifications are maintained.
- Ensure GMPs and SSOPs standards are met for all employees to perform their duties effectively.
- Lead the team to support and develop plans to meet department and organizational objectives.
- Recommend changes in work practices to improve standards and effectiveness of processes.
- Initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or disciplinary measures.
- Manage employee timecards and submit them in a timely manner.
- Develop and post weekly schedules for the team and update changes in the Time & Attendance System.
- Review staffing needs to ensure staff corresponds with production requirements.
- Participate in interviewing and hiring of team members.
- Effectively communicate shift pass downs and other information to team members, supervisors, and managers.
- Evaluate the proper operation of processing equipment by monitoring material flow and machine malfunctions, providing troubleshooting when necessary.
- Safety Awareness: Ability to identify and correct conditions affecting employee safety.
- Leadership: Ability to influence others to perform their jobs effectively and make decisions setting good examples.
- People Development: Ability to develop direct reports' skills and competencies by planning effective development and training plans.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to change in the workplace and function in a fast-paced setting.
- Resource Management (People & Equipment): Ability to obtain and appropriate the proper usage of equipment, facilities, materials, and personnel.
- Prioritization: Ability to quickly prioritize among numerous pressing tasks and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as ability to make presentations.
- Team Involvement: Works effectively with teams and work groups, establishing positive working relationships and actively participating in problem-solving.
An estimated salary of $85,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Work EnvironmentThe majority of the role is performed in a manufacturing environment with high levels of noise. Working conditions can include extreme cold, heat, humidity, or salty environments.
