We are looking for a skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Aerovel Corporation, a leading innovator in unmanned aircraft systems. In this role, you will lead the development of manufacturing processes for assembly of mechanical and electrical aerospace products, ensuring conformity to requirements and supporting quality on time and on cost delivery.

About the Role:

  • Lead and develop manufacturing processes for assembly of mechanical and electrical aerospace products.
  • Identify and track risks and issues with manufacturing process quality and efficiency.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions.
  • Implement 5S methodologies in design of process, tool sets, part kits, and workstations.
  • Maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and compliance to engineering design.
  • Design tools, fixtures, jigs, and workspace for efficient manufacturing assembly.
  • Determine in-process quality inspection equipment and steps required.
  • Conceptualize and fabricate test equipment for verification of critical features.
  • Participate in design review with design engineering.
  • Provide training to manufacturing staff on new procedures.
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production costs.
  • Support new production and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO).
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare product and process reports by analyzing information and trends.
  • Continuously improve processes with implementation of 5S methodologies.
  • Assume project management responsibilities for special projects as requested.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in Engineering, preferably in aerospace.
  • Demonstrated experience in 5S methodology implementation.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and BOMs.
  • Ability to author and structure manufacturing work instructions.
  • Knowledge of process inspection and traceability.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing ergonomics.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
