About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Manager to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall availability and reliability of our data center operations, meeting or exceeding defined service levels.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding, experience in people management, and the drive to take AWS Data Center Operations to the next level. You will be responsible for creating and devising strategies, mentoring team members, sponsoring projects, and proposing technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead teams in hardware and network diagnostics, followed by physical repair, and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Work independently and manage teams effectively, prioritizing work, and maintaining organizational skills.
  • Create documentation, innovate solutions, participate in site-level project work, and fix complex problems within the Data Center Space.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of professional or military experience in an IT-related field.
  • 2+ years of experience managing people in a technical environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with Networking, or Computer hardware.
  • Effective communication and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of previous Data Center Management experience.
  • Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
  • Experience in managing budgets.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Technical writing experience.
