Environmental Fate Modeling GIS Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled Environmental Fate Modeling GIS Specialist to join our team in Research Triangle Park, NC. This role will support robust Endangered Species Assessments (ESA) and other environmental evaluations, planning, and strategic engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct geospatial environmental exposure assessments in support of Endangered Species Assessments (ESA).
  • Conduct non-ESA environmental exposure modeling exercises in support of development, re-registration, or expansion projects globally.
  • Align with project teams to set realistic timelines, plan and complete tasks, and summarize key outputs for onward communication.
  • Represent the Environmental Fate Exposure Modeling function on various internal and external teams.

Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in Natural Sciences or Applied Sciences, or related field.
  • PhD degree or Masters degree with 2 years minimum of relevant experience, or Bachelors degree with 4 years minimum of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience directly conducting geospatial assessments related to the environmental fate and behavior of crop protection chemicals or other organic chemicals.
  • Experience with environmental chemical exposure modeling, specifically with regulatory software such as PWC and AgDrift.
  • Proficiency in geographic information systems (GIS), specifically with ESRI software family and/or QGIS.
  • Proficiency in (big) geospatial data science, including expertise in programming/scripting languages, with preference given to Python.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
