K Lochner has an open position for a Drainage Project Engineer with a transportation focus to work from either our Austin, Round Rock, San Antonio, or Houston offices. The position requires a strong technical background working with transportation agencies such as TxDOT, Texas counties, RMAs, and municipal clients. In this position, you will lead, mentor, and develop junior engineers, make independent decisions, resolve complex problems, and assist in the management of project tasks, budgets, schedules, and client interactions. Additionally, this position provides a high-profile project-specific opportunity to be a key player in the drainage design of TxDOT's I-35 Capital Express Central project through downtown Austin.

Requirements

  • PE License in Texas
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering
  • 8+ Years in Transportation Drainage projects including planning, design, and construction
  • Experience with MicroStation ORD
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • TxDOT Precertification's 10.1.1, at a minimum
Preferred Qualifications

  • TCEQ water quality design experience
  • Experience with HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS
  • GIS experience
  • Familiarity with advanced modeling software such as SWMM, HEC-RAS 2D, InfoWorks ICM
  • Task lead and project management experience

Work Environment
