Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to join our Nursing Department at State Fair Community College. As a part-time clinical instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and evaluating students in a clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality instructional experiences to meet the objectives of the program
  • Supervise students in clinical sites and nursing lab
  • Work with clinical facilities to provide suitable clinical experiences for students
  • Attend clinical site orientation and provide clinical syllabus and documents to students and administrative staff
  • Conduct pre and post clinical conferences with students
  • Observe, guide, and assist students with nursing actions, medications, charting, and special procedures
  • Maintain clinical site regulations and write anecdotal notes on each assigned student
  • Collaborate with coordinator and other staff regarding student absences, remediation, and other student issues
  • Counsel students on clinical performance, attendance, professionalism, or other concerns
  • Complete clinical evaluation forms and discuss with students at designated intervals
  • Report student attendance, grades, and progress reports by published deadlines
Qualifications
  • Meet minimum standards for State Board approval, Bachelor's degree in nursing with clinical component
  • Currently licensed to practice as a registered professional nurse in Missouri
  • Nursing license cannot have been disciplined related to public safety
  • Active in professional nursing organizations
  • Current BLS/CPR
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Student-centeredness, ability to interact with diverse backgrounds, and commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college
Preferred Qualifications
  • Equivalent of 2 years of full-time experience within 5 years or 2 years of part-time experience in the last 5 years in nursing education, clinical practice, or administration
