About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Senior Coordinator to join our team at Pro-Vac LLC in Manassas, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion onsite safety and prevent injuries by implementing effective safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure training and regulatory compliance by developing and maintaining comprehensive health and safety programs.
  • Cultivate a strong safety culture within the organization by promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Participate as a member of the Health and Safety Team to develop, implement, and continuously improve safety and health management systems and programs.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify areas for improvement, share best practices, and drive collective efforts to enhance safety culture and performance.
  • Develop and implement safety training programs to ensure employees have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their jobs safely.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on safety-related matters and ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe work environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in industrial/rail car cleaning, hazardous chemicals, and/or emergency response.
  • OSHA 500 certification preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Demonstrated physical fitness and agility to work at heights and perform climbing activities safely.

  • Traveling to and visiting job sites within the region to ensure safety protocols are being followed.
  • Researching and evaluating safety-sensitive equipment to recommend the best solutions for the organization.
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and industry standards.
  • Conducting safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
