Responsibilities:- Assess patients' care needs and develop a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with physicians to provide and coordinate nursing care to individuals and groups of patients.
- Assist in teaching patients' families and providing milieu management.
- Communicate with and educate patients' families/significant others in discharge/aftercare planning needs.
- Provide a safe and secure environment for patients served and staff in both individual and group settings.
- Document, report, and verify all necessary information according to established policies and procedures.
- Monitor for and report to the physician(s) any potential risk to patients' safety that could lead to an adverse outcome.
- Create a customer/client-friendly environment by following quality improvement standards, maintaining professionalism, and initiating and maintaining positive relationships with departments/programs, co-workers, and external customers.
- Provide care in various clinical settings with diverse patients' served populations.
- Identify specific patients' needs and implement patient-centered, compassionate care.
- Function as a clinical leader, delegating/coordinating staff assignments, and promoting staff development.
- Utilize and continually review patient care protocols, standards of practice, and standards of care.
- Give input into the process for improvement.
- Train direct care staff (if applicable).
- Indirectly oversee medication and physical health activities in a program (if applicable).
- Schedule, staff, and obtain pre-authorizations (if applicable).
- 1+ year of Psych RN experience preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
- Unencumbered MI RN license required.
- BLS required.
