Verovian Healthcare Recruitment Agency is seeking a skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) nurse to join their team in Seattle, Washington.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires providing critical care to infants, children, and adolescents with life-threatening conditions. As a PICU nurse, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care and support to both patients and their families during challenging times.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced nursing care to pediatric patients with severe and complex medical conditions, including respiratory failure, sepsis, trauma, and post-operative care following major surgeries.
  • Perform continuous assessments of patients, closely monitoring vital signs, neurological status, and other critical indicators to detect and respond to changes in condition promptly.
  • Administer medications, blood products, and advanced therapies as prescribed, following strict protocols and ensuring patient safety.
  • Offer emotional support and education to families, helping them understand their child's condition, treatment plan, and care needs, and involving them in the decision-making process.
  • Work closely with pediatric intensivists, surgeons, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Act quickly and efficiently in emergencies, using advanced life support skills to stabilize critically ill patients.
  • Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pediatric or intensive care setting is required; PICU experience is preferred.
  • BLS and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications are required; CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certifications are preferred.
  • Strong clinical and critical thinking skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and a deep commitment to providing compassionate care to pediatric patients and their families.
