We're Looking for a Healthcare Data Engineer Specialist: Join our team at Valenz and be part of shaping the future of healthcare technology. As a key member of our Healthcare Bluebook team, you'll play a vital role in integrating, validating, enriching, and aggregating healthcare data for our analysts and data scientists. Your expertise will help us find new sources of information, design efficient data pipelines, and ensure seamless data transfer between hosted and cloud environments.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Data Processing Expertise: Continuously improve data processing across the company, ensuring high-quality results and optimal performance.
  • Pipeline Design and Implementation: Utilize Databricks on Azure to design and implement performant data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources, streamlining data collection and analysis.
  • Data Automation: Build and maintain data pipelines, automating existing manual processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Database Management: Collaborate with Data Engineering to develop efficient processes for loading acquired data into relational, dimensional, and No-SQL databases.
  • Data Storage Architecture: Implement data lake architecture best practices to standardize and scale data storage and processing.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other teams to identify new sources of data and estimate the feasibility of acquiring specific data sources.
  • Agile Process Participation: Actively participate in agile processes to drive project success and continuous improvement.

You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Technical Expertise: 4+ years of experience in a highly technical and hands-on data engineering or data science role, with a strong background in ETL processes.
  • Cloud Computing: Experience working with Databricks and/or PySpark is highly valued.
  • Database Management: Familiarity with Data Lakehouse and migration of RDBMS systems to a Lakehouse environment.
  • Healthcare Domain Knowledge: Experience working with common types of healthcare data, including medical claims, eligibility, provider network rosters, Rx claims, and more.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and time management capacity to balance multiple projects with limited supervision.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to build and re-evaluate a process from the ground up, with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
  • This Is a Fully Remote Position, with all necessary equipment provided. You'll need a quiet workspace free from distractions, reliable internet connection, adherence to company security protocols, and a US-based location where you can work effectively and comply with company policies such as HIPAA.
