Higher Education Research Specialist

The New Mexico Junior College is seeking a qualified Higher Education Research Specialist to join their team. This is a twelve-month non-exempt position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Job Summary:
The Higher Education Research Specialist will report to the Vice President for Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting and coordinating the collection and distribution of information for institutional planning and external agencies. This will involve engaging in related activities regarding the college's compliance with criteria established by appropriate state, regional, and/or national accreditation and licensing organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist and coordinate the collection and distribution of information for institutional planning and external agencies.
- Utilize survey tools, computer software, and other instruments and media as appropriate for efficient and effective research design, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, and reporting.
- Systematically review and evaluate data to ensure its accuracy, reliability, and suitability.
- Assist with departmental activities to ensure the college complies with all Higher Learning Commissions (HLC) accreditation standards.
- Work with faculty and administrative personnel to develop student and program learning outcomes and coordinate the development and implementation of appropriate assessment measures.
- Coordinate/produce data for internal research, assessment, and evaluation projects.
- May serve on campus committees as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, business, social science, or related area.
- At least two years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Experience validating data.
- Experience with statistical software, data visualization platforms, spreadsheets, and presentation applications to analyze, synthesize, and present data.
- Training in research methods and data analysis.
- Experience using text-based software applications.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of procedures, concepts, and research methods necessary for collecting, analyzing, and administering various means of assessment utilized in higher education settings.
- Meet schedules and timelines.
- Perform statistical and qualitative analyses.
- Assist in the preparation of written analysis, recommendations, and complex reports.
- Research and analyze data and information.
- Basic principles of survey research techniques, survey design, and analysis.
- Basic techniques of project management.
- Excellent analytic and computer skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with the highest degree of confidentiality.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Possess the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, excellent management and team-building skills, and top-notch organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Additional Information:
- This position offers a competitive salary range of $22.55 to $32.85 per hour, with a full-time schedule.
