Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Hospice Care Assistant to join our team at Hospice of Michigan. As a Hospice Care Assistant, you will provide basic personal care and homemaking services to patients in their homes, ensuring their comfort and dignity.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide personal care services, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, as directed by the Manager, Service Operations or RN.
  2. Assist patients with light household services, such as preparing meals and washing dishes.
  3. Maintain a safe environment and observe infection control precautions.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members.
  5. Document patient care and submit documentation in accordance with policies.

Requirements:
  1. Current CNA certification required.
  2. One (1) or two (2) years' experience as a home health/hospice aide or nurse aide preferred.
  3. Completion of a home health/hospice aide training and competency-evaluation program or an in-house competency-evaluation program.
  4. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
