Job SummaryThe Nurse Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, supervising and developing nursing staff, and reporting to the Director of Nursing. This role requires a strong desire to make a positive difference in the lives of patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients through physical examination and diagnostic testing to determine health status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Participate in care planning and oversee implementation of the plan.
- Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
- Communicate with physicians regarding patient conditions and diagnostic test results.
- Document patient assessments and care in compliance with standards of care and company policy.
- Provide education to patients and their families on health-related issues.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Valid State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Current CPR certification.
Supervises LPNs, LVNs, graduate nurses, and certified nursing assistants.
Physical Demands and EnvironmentShift work may be required. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, feel, talk, and hear. The employee will occasionally assist in lifting and/or transferring patients weighing between 100 to 250 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
