Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Instructor to join our Paramedicine program at Oklahoma State University. As a Clinical Instructor, you will play a critical role in the education and training of our students, providing hands-on instruction and guidance in the clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the instruction of EMT and Paramedic lab courses, ensuring students receive comprehensive training in emergency medical procedures.
  • Work under the direction of the Paramedicine Program Director, collaborating to develop and implement curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Prepare lab facilities for classes, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the safe and proper use of lab equipment and hazardous materials, modeling best practices for students.
  • Provide leadership and positive role modeling for students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Attend annual program meetings, staying informed about program developments and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the program.
Requirements
  • Minimum of one year field experience with an EMS agency at license level to be taught.
  • Current National Registry of EMTs certification as an EMT or Paramedic.
  • Current Oklahoma EMT or Paramedic license.
  • AHA BLS Provider certification (or equivalent training approved by the paramedicine program).
  • AHA ACLS Provider certification (paramedic only) (or equivalent training approved by the paramedicine program).
  • AHA PALS/PEPP Provider certification (paramedic only) (or equivalent training approved by the paramedicine program).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience or field training.
  • Experience in education technology, simulation technology, or related areas.
  • Familiarity with Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, and Paramedic registry skills and practices.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a hospital and assisted living facility environment, with a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends. The instructor will perform duties inside structures or in hospital settings, requiring the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted and handle hazardous materials safely.
