Job Summary
The Dispatcher Route Supervisor will be responsible for fielding incoming calls from drivers and customer service, gathering and recording delivery time information, and coordinating dispatch operations for delivery. This role requires strong organizational skills, ability to handle stressful situations, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Scheduling route dispatch in a timely manner to ensure successful delivery
- Gathering and recording delivery time information from route drivers
- Actively involved in interviewing, selecting, and training new hires
- Communicating with customer service on route driver locations as requested
- Communicating with management and customer service regarding deliveries that will not be made within delivery windows
- Communicating with mechanics on vehicle condition reports and needed truck repairs to ensure safety protocols
- Communicating with management and seeking timely resolution on truck breakdown situations
- Completing delivery logs daily and disbursing to management
- Working with the purchasing department on all product pick-ups and assigning drivers to complete pick-ups and return product and paperwork to receiving
- Collecting all assets issued to drivers upon their return, including keys, handhelds, tickets, etc.
- Communicating with management on any driver/delivery issues that arise during the course of the day
- Knowledge of Routing System Software, Tracking Systems, Cold Chain Software, and In-Cabin Camera devices preferred but not required
- Ability to handle safety-sensitive situations (injuries/accidents) in a professional manner
Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish required
- High School Diploma and previous dispatching experience required
- Working knowledge of Outlook and Excel, data entry, and route management systems
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle stressful situations effectively
- Written and verbal communication skills and professional manner dealing with customers and employees
- Working knowledge of NY, NJ, and CT geography
- Working knowledge of DOT compliance with driver hours of service, vehicle inspections, drug/alcohol testing procedures
Work Schedule
- Must be able to work 8am-4pm and 1pm-9pm if needed
- Must work every Saturday
- Off Sunday and weekday
