Lead Physician for Texas Addiction Treatment Centers

The Medical Director at BayMark Health Services oversees the delivery of comprehensive addiction treatment services in Lufkin and Center, Texas. This role is responsible for providing patient care, medical evaluation, and management of medication-assisted treatment programs.
Estimated Salary Range: $250,000 - $350,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Interview, train, and evaluate physician extenders to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Implement and enforce medical policies, procedures, and training to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Assist with development of clinical policies, procedures, and training to enhance staff knowledge and skills.
- Correspond with regulatory bodies, such as DEA, SMA, Medicaid, and SAMHSA/CSAT, to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.
- Provide reports and data to senior management as requested.
Patient Care
- Develop and supervise treatment plans for patients, adhering to established CSAT and state guidelines, with a strong emphasis on quality and customer service.
- Sign patient records and oversee the provision of treatment by physician extenders.
- Place patients into treatment, examine patients, and perform comprehensive physical examinations, documenting health history and examination results.
- Initiate, alter, and terminate replacement narcotic therapy medications following strict protocols and guidelines.
- Supervise the administration and dispensing of medications, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations.
- Confers with private physicians as needed and examines staff after on-the-job accidents or injuries.
- Maintains confidentiality and upholds patient, employee, company, and computer confidentiality.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Board certification or eligibility in Addiction Medicine or Primary Care.
- At least 1 year of experience in Addiction Medicine and Primary Care.
- Current state license and Medicare/Medicaid approval.
- Ability to prescribe methadone and buprenorphine.
- Knowledge of Medical-Assisted Treatment is preferred.
- Satisfactory drug screen and background check.
