Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Patient Care Technician to join our team at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. As a key member of our Ambulatory Services team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist nurses and providers with various patient care duties, including direct and indirect patient care.
  • Transport patients within the Institute and assist with patient flow through ambulatory services.
  • Monitor and maintain quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
  • Procure and process laboratory test samples for clinical and research testing purposes.
  • Perform phlebotomy using venipuncture, butterfly, and microsampling techniques.
  • Process patient registration and laboratory orders for specimen acquisition within Hospital and Laboratory Information Systems.
  • Maintain laboratory supply inventories and process requests for supply orders.
  • Obtain electrocardiograms and assist with maintaining compliance and safety.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree and national certification as a Medical Assistant, or
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and equivalent of two years of full-time patient care experience and national certification as a Patient Care Technician.
