Linn-Benton Community College is seeking a Student Support Assistant to join our Accessibility Resources team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable experience in academic support and success coaching, while utilizing their technical skills to enhance the learning experience of their peers.

Job Summary:

As a Student Support Assistant, you will provide academic support and success coaching mentorship to fellow students in using learning technologies to enhance their learning experience and academic success in individual and group settings. You will work closely with students to identify and build on their technology knowledge, create a supportive learning environment, and direct students to online resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and mentor students in understanding and utilizing various educational technologies.
  • Create a supportive learning environment to help students identify and build on their technology knowledge.
  • Direct students to online resources and effectively demonstrate how to utilize them for self-help.

Requirements:

  • Minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher or demonstrated experience using technologies.
  • Understanding of LBCC academic technology recommended by course instructors or an advanced understanding of how similar technologies work (e.g., learning management systems and video conferencing platforms).
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced computer and word processing skills.
  • Ability to independently perform assigned responsibilities.
  • Willingness to attend training to enhance skills.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas, so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
