Mammography Technologist Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist Supervisor to join our team at The County of Los Angeles. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for supervising breast imaging operations at a hospital or surgical center, ensuring that all examinations are expeditiously processed and meet requisite standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the work of mammography technologists, ensuring that all examinations are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Plan and organize work in an assigned unit to assure that all examinations meet requisite standards of quality and safety.
- Schedule and assign personnel to workstations based on factors such as workload, employee availability, and training in procedures.
- Evaluate the work of assigned personnel and provide counseling on performance.
- Perform administrative duties, including ensuring certificates and licenses are valid and up to date, and preparing for ACR accreditation and MQSA renewals.
- Oversee and inspect quality control per MQSA requirements at a hospital or surgical center on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, and report any malfunction or variation to the mammography manager, maintenance, or service provider.
- Responsible for tracking patients, utilizing the tracking system of the mammography reporting system.
- Audit processing sensitometry records and other equipment/accessory quality control data for compliance with policy and trends/problem identification.
- Assist physicians in performing image-guided diagnostic and invasive procedures, such as stereotactic biopsy, MRI breast biopsies, needle localization, and galactograms.
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography during staff shortages.
- Conduct clinical training of new mammography technologists and students, and orient new personnel to the mammography department.
- Confirm proper archiving and availability of images in the Picture Archiving and Communication System, and assure studies are properly completed in the electronic health record and the mammography reporting system.
- Two years of experience at the level of a certified Mammography Technologist, Special Procedures.
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (CRT) issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health/Radiologic Health Branch, and Mammographic Certificate issued by the State of California Department of Health/Radiologic Health Branch.
- A current certification in accordance with the American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program.
- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Appointees may be required to work any shift, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
