Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team at the Community Council of Idaho. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and have a passion for providing safe transportation services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide school bus transportation to children, parents, and other passengers as assigned
  • Operate and inspect a school bus, ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and other applicable traffic and safety laws, regulations, ordinances, and codes
  • Maintain accurate records of bus maintenance, repairs, and inspections
  • Perform custodial duties, including cleaning and maintaining custodial and grounds equipment and supplies
  • Assist in moving and setting up furniture and equipment, as needed
  • Supervise Bus Monitor(s) and maintain standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and records
  • Participate in snow removal duties and maintain grounds by picking up litter and trash, mowing grass, weeding planting areas, and irrigating

Requirements

  • Clean driving record which meets Idaho Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
  • Pass a DOT physical examination
  • Pass required background checks, including state day care clearance
  • Obtain clearance of Tuberculosis
  • Provide proof of auto insurance
  • Obtain First Aid and CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger & school bus endorsement
  • One three months experience and/or training in transportation
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a business setting

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including:

We also offer paid holidays, educational leave, and paid time off. After one year of service, employees accrue 16 hours of PTO per year, increasing to 8 hours after three years, 12 hours after ten years, and 16 hours after twenty years.
