Clinical Specimen Collector

At CHI, we are committed to providing high-quality patient care and exceptional service. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in our laboratory team, responsible for collecting and processing biological specimens for analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport, collect, receive, and prepare biological specimens for all age groups of patients for analysis using procedures consistent with safe work practices and proper laboratory techniques.
- Organize and prioritize workload by LEAN principles for the most efficient, accurate, and timely collection and processing of specimens in order to meet quality standards of laboratory testing.
- Use appropriate customer service skills (cordial, positive attitude, helpfulness) in encounters with patients, families of patients, visitors, and other members of the health care team that result in high levels of customer satisfaction for the organization.
- Ensure accurate and timely registration of reference lab patients.
Requirements
Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED
Licensure and Certifications
None for all campuses except: CHI CUMC Bergan 222105866 : Valid Driver's License
CHI Good Samaritan: Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
Phlebotomy certification or completion of a phlebotomy course
