Schedule and Salary

This full-time role offers a salary range of $72,200.00 - $117,800.00 per year, determined by factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. The salary reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.

About the Role

You will represent Liberty Mutual and our policyholders in moderately complex civil litigation and workers' compensation matters involving claims for monetary damages or compensation for personal injuries or property damage of a moderate value. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the entire legal process, from investigation and discovery through trial prep and court proceedings;
  • Negotiating settlements as required;
  • Developing appropriate legal strategies for all stages of litigation and sharing them with claims representatives and insured clients;
  • Establishing and maintaining good relationships with claims representatives and insured clients;
  • Drafting clear, unambiguous legal opinions and strategies, and drafting legal documents including pleadings and motions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of one year of experience as an attorney;
  • Membership in the Ohio Bar;
  • Appropriate special licenses to practice before boards or federal courts preferred;
  • Talent for cultivating strong working relationships with internal and external partners;
  • Aptitude for detailed, analytical thinking;
  • A process-oriented mindset, with proven ability to meet deadlines and stay organized;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Familiarity with the latest developments in the practice of law, as well as pertinent knowledge in related fields;
  • Familiarity with insurance law a plus;
  • Proficiency with technologies that reduce costs and facilitate the practice of law and remote work.
