Job Description

Evergreen Family Medicine is a healthcare organization committed to providing excellent care for families in Oregon. We are seeking a skilled Call Center Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations and EFM policies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and managers via phone, email, or in person.
  • Update registration information and current insurance details.
  • Answer phones efficiently and redirect calls to appropriate staff or departments.
  • Verify benefits and eligibility for OHP, DCIPA, and Atrio, including PCP assignment.
  • Advocate for patients by creating patient cases, requests, communications, and appointments in Athena.
  • Communicate and collect co-pays, coinsurances, and deductibles from patients over the phone.
  • Answer inquiries by researching and providing information.
  • Communicate with outside provider offices, facilities, and insurances via phone, fax, and computer.
  • Stay up-to-date with Athena and engage in continuing education and trainings.
  • Accurately account for credit card transactions and balance batches.
  • Self-manage to stay on task and promote a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, clerical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 wpm and proficiency with computers and office equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged sitting and computer work.
  • Frequent walking, use of hands and fingers, and reaching.
  • Occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Lifting up to 15 pounds.
