Receivables Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Receivables Operations Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing the overall functions related to internal and external premium receivables, including direct bill and agency billed balances, third-party collection vendors, and minimizing bad debt write-offs.

The successful candidate will lead and provide guidance for the Direct Bill Receivables and Agency Bill/External Receivable teams, build collaborative relationships with internal partners, and develop strategies for effectively resolving and writing-off receivables. They will also review procedures and workflows for accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness, and implement improvements and recommend system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Receivables Operations team to achieve business objectives and goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize bad debt write-offs and maximize recoveries from third-party collection vendors.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to ensure timely responses and consistent approaches to resolving outstanding receivables.
  • Review and improve procedures and workflows to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Negotiate or provide direction to staff for negotiating payment plans, resolving disputed amounts, or settling balances.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business
  • 7-10 years collection, settlement, and overall receivable management experience
  • 5-7 years managing a receivables unit and third-party collection firms
  • 3-5 years working with the legal aspects of collections, including suits, judgments, and bankruptcies
  • Management experience, including strategy development, performance appraisals, determining appropriate staffing levels, and assigning job responsibilities to meet business needs

Benefits:
