PRIMARY ROLE:


The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests and staff at The Mill Casino Hotel & RV Park. This role involves monitoring operations to ensure compliance with established policies.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Foster a clean, safe, and friendly atmosphere for both employees and guests.
  • Report any safety concerns or hazards to the Supervisor or Safety Committee.
  • Provide escorts for guests and employees to ensure their safety within the casino premises.
  • Safeguard the transfer of large sums of money and chips within the casino.
  • Monitor compliance with casino policies and report any infractions to supervisors.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the casino and surrounding properties.
  • Assist with machine and table drops as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of individuals banned from the property and alert relevant departments.
  • Verify identification for individuals appearing under the age of twenty-one to ensure compliance with gaming regulations.
  • Intervene appropriately in the event of altercations or disturbances.
  • Observe and report any suspicious behavior or substance use.
  • Follow the established chain of command for reporting incidents.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and assist as necessary.
  • Keep daily activity logs and head counts.
  • Perform dispatch duties and guide guests and employees during drills or emergencies.
  • Operate company vehicles as required.
  • Document security-related incidents involving guests, employees, or the facility.
  • Utilize the security surveillance system effectively.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid Oregon Driver's License is mandatory.
  • Previous experience in public safety, casino security, military, or related fields is preferred.
  • Background in customer service or hospitality is advantageous.
  • Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with a diverse clientele.
  • Strong written skills for report writing and documentation.
  • Ability to comprehend safety regulations and procedures.
  • OLCC certification must be maintained.
  • CPR and First Aid certification are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Office, and Windows applications is necessary.
  • Must pass a background check and adhere to drug-free workplace policies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


This role requires the ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed. Employees may be required to sit occasionally, stand for extended periods, walk frequently, lift up to 40 pounds, and perform repetitive motions.

Employees must manage stress effectively and make decisions under pressure while maintaining composure in challenging situations. The casino environment may expose employees to secondhand smoke.
