Job Title: Medical Imaging Professional

We are seeking a skilled Medical Imaging Professional to join our team at Magnet Medical for a travel assignment in Arizona. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating computed tomography scanners to perform diagnostic imaging procedures.

About the Job:

Salary: $145,000 - 165,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Location: Tuba City, Arizona

Duration: 13 weeks, with a possibility of extension

Hours: 40 hours per week, including night shifts

About the Role:Patient Preparation and Communication:
  • Prepare patients for CT scans: Explain the procedure, answer questions, and ensure patient comfort.
  • Verify patient information: Confirm medical history, allergies, and prior imaging to ensure accurate diagnosis.
  • Position patients: Ensure proper positioning on the CT table for optimal image quality.
  • Instruct patients: Teach patients how to hold their breath or remain still during scans.
Operation of CT Equipment:
  • Operate and calibrate CT scanners: Adjust settings for each scan, including radiation dose and slice thickness.
  • Administer contrast agents: Under physician guidance, administer dye injections to enhance image clarity.
  • Maintain equipment: Monitor the scanner during imaging and troubleshoot any issues.
Image Quality and Review:
  • Review images: Ensure all required areas are captured and images meet diagnostic standards.
  • Collaborate with radiologists: Work together to ensure high-quality images support accurate diagnoses.
  • Repeat or adjust scans: Improve image quality or cover comprehensive imaging as needed.
Patient Safety and Comfort:
  • Minimize radiation exposure: Use the lowest possible dose and shielding when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe environment: Sanitize equipment between patients and ensure a clean, sterile environment.
  • Ensure patient positioning: Prevent injury or discomfort during scans, especially for vulnerable patients.
  • Monitor patient reactions: Alert physicians if patients exhibit adverse reactions to contrast agents.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work with healthcare teams: Assist in determining imaging procedures and diagnosing conditions.
  • Document patient information: Record scan parameters, contrast media used, and any complications in the EHR.
  • Participate in patient care planning: Discuss complex cases with the healthcare team.
Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot CT equipment: Ensure everything functions properly.
  • Perform routine inspections and calibration: Alert maintenance staff to any malfunctioning or unsafe equipment.
  • Keep accurate logs: Document equipment use, maintenance, and repairs.
Radiation Safety and Compliance:
  • Follow radiation safety protocols: Protect patients and staff from radiation exposure.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance: Adhere to HIPAA, safety standards, and Joint Commission guidelines.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes: Keep current with radiation safety, patient privacy, and procedural guidelines.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
  • Accurately document imaging procedures: Record patient information and any adverse events.
  • Comply with documentation policies: Follow hospital or clinic regulations and industry standards.
  • Assist with patient flow: Provide quick turnaround times for imaging results when needed.
Patient Education and Support:
  • Provide education and guidance: Teach patients about aftercare, potential side effects, and follow-up procedures.
  • Address patient concerns: Offer support and address fears or anxiety related to the procedure.
  • Maintain patient dignity: Ensure patient privacy is respected throughout the imaging process.
Professional Development and Training:
  • Participate in continuing education: Stay current with advancements in CT imaging technology and safety procedures.
  • Attend training sessions: Participate in in-house training on new imaging techniques or equipment.
  • Maintain professional certification: Complete any continuing education requirements for licensure.
